Yes, true to real life, players wish for you to compensate them if they have to take a pay cut with another club. As you're Man U, there shouldn't be any problem with you being able to afford this.
I wouldn't try it with Utd, they are incredibly fragile finanically in game and you need to watch your outlays unless you are winning the EPL or CL consistently.

Well with loaning out players you can send them to your feeder clubs and then you pay the full amount of their wages...that's what I do.
