Default Confidence Suggestions

Hello,

this is my first post, so I don't know if I need to post some of the comments as bugs or not. I don't know if some have been posted already.

I play with Barnet, and I am in premier league since 3 seasons now.

I think sometime the confidence is not reflecting reality, even I think it's a great addition and will be fantastic feature once it has improved.
Just gonna give a few ideas for improvements.

Example 1:
I won the UEFA Cup final against Lazio rome 3-1, match confidence from the fans is 60-70%. Should be slightly higher as it is a final.
I had the same thing winning FA Cup against Man United (2-1 score), 60% match confidence.
As the fact the match is a final I think the fans should be delighted with the win, you don't really mind if the team plays well in these occasions.

Example 2:
I think fans should take into account the difference between teams, specially between leagues. For example, I played Newcastle away in League cup in my very first season (when i was in league two), and got beaten heavily (6-0). I get the board reminding me for two monthes that the fans are disappointed.

Example 3:
I think the board looks too much into friendlies. I use that to experiment tactics and have my team fit for new season, I dont think the result matters as much.

Example 4:
On my last season (finished 3rd in Premier League), I drew tottenham 2-2 at home, fans were disappointed (Match time, May).
I'm ok with that one, but I don't think board should remind it to me End of June, as I didn't played a game since.

Example 5: I think this one is a Bug, but that should be a turn around as well. My board confidence is to finish behing the top teams this season within two years. I finish 3rd in the first season, which gives me a Champions League slot (which I won through qualification). The board then says they disappointed I only reached the Euro Cup trough league this season.

Example 6:
The last one might be harder, but I think that confidence should depends also on the way the match goes. Like if I'm 2-0 down at half time and wins 3-2, I think fans should be very pleased for such a great comeback. On the same way they should be very disappointed if it goes the other way round (all depending a bit on the opposition as well).

Many thanks

A one I dont like is if your at a team with poor youth prospects so you sign a player for a very low ammount when your a high club they automatically assume hes rubbish I signed a DM for Sunderland for 96K he was 21 I think within 5 matches he has ratings of 7/7/8/7/9 and what do the fans think "the fans belive that Judt was an economical purchase and how shown as much in his recent performances" and the confidence bar is about a quarter full. I think if a player came in on the cheap and plays well it is more likely that it should be something like "Fans are pleased that such a player came for such a small fee" or atleast be happy that they have a good cheap player.

Certainly. You may find match confidence is disjointed from the competitions confidence - when you're expected to reach the quarters but you lose in the final - that should be considered. Winning a final should always be something the board and fans should be delighted with - so this needs to be sorted.

The confidence feature uses reputation, e.g. you may find that your fans, while dissapointed at a loss, are pleased with the way that the team performed against a more reputable team. Of course, 6-0 is a very disappointing result, and I'd be very disappointed even if I supported Barnet. However, perhaps 2 months is too long, especially if you are countering this with a good performance in the league.

Besides the fact that this isn't actually an example, you'll find that it's the fans that are commenting on your friendlies - the board don't mind, but, as per real life, the fans would be disappointed with poor friendlies and happy with good friendlies.

This is because the board has nothing else specific to say about your performance. This needs improving - if the board have nothing salient to say, why say anything at all?

If you're patched to 8.0.1 this shouldn't be an issue. However, the best you can do is just ignore it and get the board pleased with a good Champions League Performance. Hopefully this'll be cleared up with 8.0.2

That's a good idea. I don't think I've seen that as of yet. Of course it's disappointing to be 2-0 down, but a 3-2 comeback is excellent and the fans confidence should reflect this.

I quite agree with that one, I found a cheap player which fitted in my play style and had very good form, even tho fans found him as economical.

I'm patched to 8.0.1, so hope this will be fixed in 8.0.2

I agree 6-0 is disappointing (at least). But with 4 divisions difference against a premier league team and playing on their pitch, I would as a fan expect a heavy defeat. (At least I had some good income from the gate entries
as it played on their stadium

That's quite true that most of the fans prefer a win even on friendlies. But that still should account for less than a competitive match.

Thanks
