Been playing this game for 7 years now,every year for about 3 month - 6 months, with 1 or 2 breaks in between,i have always done well in it,and i still do,to some extent,but this is being ridiculous,getting 25 shots on target and MAYBE 1 or 2 goals,while every opposition goalkeeper puts in a clinical performance.

I play with real madrid,the coaches are all very good,7 stars in all departments,light/average workload,the training itself is on heavy,with finshing on heavy,itself,i'm playing with aguero and van nistelrooy up front,and aguero is playing totally crap,van nistelrooy is scoring alright,but by the amount of opportunities,both should be doing quite a lot better.

I end up doing some defensive tactics in 80th minute as the other teams almost all of them go to an unrealistic,and strangely effective 4-2-4 formation...is this game bugged and i am wasting my time or what? is it even worth playing,it's been out for quite some months now and if this is the poor state it's in what's the reason to bother but just to pointlessly raise my blood pressure ?

its been discussed many many times ever since the last patch came out and yes the match engine is poor, if you look around the forum theres also many other things that are possibily bugged

everyones eargerly waiting the next patch to see if anything gets fixed

I've just had it with these insane goalkeepers,every single goalkeeper in the primera is world class ,and not in their description,but by how they play,and my strikers can't hit the back of the net for the life of them..

Oh yes,and the training also has improved to more than 9 stars on several categories,not like it matters though,and aguero's finishing is at 17 now,lower than it was when i bought him,anyone got some ideas?

Like the other guy said, this and other issues have been discussed many times. For whatever reason, the 07 match engine was scrapped and some serious defensive flaws were created. Apparently, to compensate for the horrid defender AI which results in an unreal number of breakaways, the programmers decided to hamstring the shooters. If you'll notice, it's not so much amazing goalkeeping as it's just a matter of your retarded forwards shooting the damn ball directly at the keeper. My advice until the patch is to choose keepers with high handling and one-on-one skills. The majority of goals scored are off of rebounds.

The shots on tartget statistic IS silly, but you can work around it with your tactics.

Look in the Tactics forum and pretty much any subject that says "This is stupid" or "SI are cheating" or something and there are plenty of tips on how to score.

Basically, you need more attention to detail on your tactics before AND during the match. Also, team talks have far too much infulence on your performances.

They do need to fix it, but it isn't impossible to play. Not by a long shot.

My personal favorite is when an attacking player chooses to bloop the ball 30 yards over the keeper's head instead of moving closer to the goal for a sitter. I guess that's my tactic, too.
