Hi, in European Cups you need to have 4 homegrown players but after 6-7 seasons I've got the problem that it's hard to get young homegrown players. I had some players who I signed at the age of 17 but at the age of 20 they weren't marked as homegrown but only as trained in the country I'm playing in (the category you need 8 of). From what age and how long do you have to train them to get them to be homegrown players? (of the category you need 4 players of)
They don't. I had several players who were marked as homegrown after I bought them from another team and trained them in my youth squad for a couple of seasons. The thing is that I don't know how many years you gotta have them and before what age you gotta train them.
If a player is 17 on the day he joins your club (not the date he agreed to join) then exactly 3 years after that date he will be classified as HG Orange (2 years after he joins he gets classified as HG Yellow). Sending players on loan has no effect on this.
I have never had a player who didn't follow that pattern so all I can think of is it's a bug.
Maybe post in the bugs forum along with screenshots showing the date the player joined, their date of birth and the current date of your game.

I thought he had to be at the club and trained there. Thanks for the advice.
