Default fm09

why would you want to buy fm09 in six months or so with the 8.0.2 patch coming out in the next couple of days.

with this patch, the game should be near perfection so surely we'd get at least six months of joy out of it before we feel the urge to buy fm09....and wait for the patches to fix the game.

if fm08 becomes 'flawless' with the release of the new patch, would you rush out and buy fm09 at a premium price and frustrate the hell out of yourself or would you wait until the transfer window closes 9.0.2 is released?

Depends, i didnt buy 08 until January because i was still enjoying a long term game on 07, using the first patch. See where i am at in terms of a career game when 09 is released.

It's a bit hard to get excited about FM 2009 at the moment when you don't know anything about it or what delights it may contain.

I'm not buying it when it gets released no matter whether 8.0.2 makes it "flawless" or not. I am just so annoyed with the 2008 version that I went back to 7.0.2 and have enjoyed it so much more than 8.0.1 (and 8.0.0) that I can't even put it into words.

Even if it has really cool new "delights," I am, at the very least, going to wait to see what people say on these boards before I buy it. The fact that (some) people are so disgusted that they are going back a year says something. I can understand a new game not meeting expectations but it being so much of a disappointment that people are happier with older versions is unbelievable.

Yes, I know there are many people perfectly happy with this game - I'm just speaking for myself.

Same thing has happened every single year.
