Sorry 'bout that. I suspected it was large because it took about 10sec. for me on cable. I just thought that the site was interesting in that in really made good use of 3D and Flash (and a funny movie clip). But then again how good is it if many people can't get it.
No problem here...immediate connection and the loading took less than two seconds.
But I do am spoilt (average of 600kbytes/Second) and I haven't got an idea what it might be on adsl or 56K.
I do like the way the interface apperas, but then again: if it's only for some happy few who have a fast connection, then what's the use?
"The" problem with flash and web design.
Like I always say to people who want to learn to draw: "When you want to show what you can, you always show what you can't."
Good quote Rich. Me too I love Fripp's music, starting with King Crimson and way through his experiments with Eno etc...
No problem for me as well, with DSL connection, great graphics and Flash work, however, for a cooperate site I don't think it is of much use, not many people would be willing to wait to see it [upset] [slick]
Yes, I can connect now too. I tried two times earlier this day without success, despite having DSL on this side.
You know, I've visited site a while back and although it's really great what they made, no discussion about that, I always wonder what the purpose of it is [confused]
I think that we see that too often; flash artists who want to show off how really good they are, instead of focusing on customers/visitors [confused]
Agree Gaus.......... the customer, client, visitor is usually forgotten when these things are created......... they look nice and please the author or creator nicely but at the cost of loosing the customer, client or visitor due to the slower downloads that these flashy things provide.
and that is my 2 cents added too so that now makes 4 cents worth [bustagut]

hey i remember that site... found it through someone on the FxZone board. They wanted to know if those metal balls could be made with Photoshop... i replied, "why yes, they can in fact.".
So i made this for 'em to prove it.
Unfortunately though, i think that tute got 'pruned' off their board. I still have the psd though.
If i remember correctly, i thought the site was a tad heavy on the download also; and i have dsl as well.
Interesting. The site insists I don't have Flash installed, and I have the latest version. (Something Procreate is famous for, but then they promptly ignore what they told you and shove you into the site anyway). I don't know enough about Flash to know why this happens...it only happens on a few sites. I suspect it's something the designer/developer did wrong, or forgot to do.
Er....update. The above was on IE Mac. Just tried it with Safari, the new Apple browser released today, and it loads just fine.
I didn't know about it, but I suspected that Apple would come up with a browser. Now they only need an alternative Office suite...?Personally I love the Opera browser, yet Explorer devours everything you present to him. I hope there is or will be a Safari for Windows too/soon...
Having visited Apple, I must say that safari seems to be like a nephew of Opera, which means that it must be really good.
