Or almost ; it is not FM Scout but it enables you to list players by Potential Ability on any saved game ; it is not as straight forward nor as user friendly as Mr Nygreen's masterpiece but it does the job i think.

Just make sure you download the latest version as beta version 2 had a bug.

Anyway its working for a lot of folks now, sure its still in early beta days but for all those who have not hung themselves waiting on FMScout this is a handy bit of work, you can search for current Ability and Potential ability very easy. take a look its up to beta version 8 now.

I just think some more thought should have gone into it first. Perhaps doing some private testing and the like.

Unfortunately, we can no longer rest on saying waving away errors saying that software is in beta stages. The word 'beta''s been thrown around so often now that it's almost synonymous with 'final release'. Microsoft don't exactly help the issue either...

Well Dan, i think you are still harsh because that tool works just fine and it didn't take Peter Cseke long to fix it and he was quite quick to help, especially when you think that he has no obligation to do it. People can argue that it is not so user friendly but who cares ! you can get your new wonderkid quite easily so i am 100% satisfied with it, especially because FM Scout is not out yet. To be honest, now i don't need FM Scout any more so Michael you can focus on FM 2006 for the XBOX 360

Why don't you read the file that comes with it?

It's a program which generates scout reports.

To all intents and purposes, it's like a can of that woodstainer. It does what it says on the tin.

Ukstriker - thanks for opening this thread.

BETA-10 has been released, but let me know if anyone has crashes with it.

Dan - I only bought FM 2006 two and half weeks ago, and only finished my FM 2005 Holiday Game last Friday, so I did not have the time to test it with tons of save games.

Luckilly the FM 2005 & FM 2006 DB formats are not that different.

I think when the tool will survive one week withouth crash reports, I will make it an RC (release candidate), and after another week it will be final.

Of course I will continue to incorporate new features in it, and the best of it will be the XML output with a transformer EXE and some XSL files that can transform the data into different formats - but anyone will be able to generate new XSL files.

I don't really think that this crashes are that bad, since if I have access to the save game, I can usually fix a crash in 20-30 minutes.

Also I tend to keep those save games that have been sent to me with a problem, and future versions are also tested with all those savegames.
