Im Aston Villa and with the exception of Eddie Johnson i have not signed anyone (not through a lack of trying. My formation is a flat back 4 with a DMC, 2 MC's, AMR/AML and a ST. None of the players have farrows, barrows etc. The problem is this...

During preseason i was hammering sides 4-0, 5-0 etc admitted lower standard than premiership and was creating lots of chances. Then the start of the season... still creating chances but conceding goals... 3 against blackburn, 4 against arsenal, but curiously only 1 against Man Utd. Three of the goals against arsenal were from a long cross from their right wing just inside my half to henry(2) and van persie(1) to head in from 10 yards out on the far side of the box.

Im currently P9 W1 D4 L4 F12 A 15 PTS7

I have read the tactical forums but i still cant seem to stem the flow of goals.... please help!!!

so do i assume that by the lack of response from 47 views that everyone has the same problem??

My problem was a similar one. Using FusS' tactics i go on a brilliant run for maybe 7 or 8 games then i stop dominating matches no matter who the opposition is. Then i find it difficult to pick up any points at all.

From what i've tried and read i think the key is to tweak your tactics often, almost every match, by making a few small changes each time the AI doesn't quite work you out so the run continues. This version of FM is very quick to work out your tactics and counter act them effectivly.

Hope this helps, FusS suggests swapping your target man if you have one or swapping the side of your target man, maybe tweaking your arrows a little.

Never use the pre-season games as any guide to your teams potential or your tactics effectiveness.

it is well know that even the greatest teams will play poo against you in a frendly.

Just use them to get new players to gel and for match fitness, nothing else.

The advice given by Grafton is spot on, tweek maybe one or two things about your tactic at the start of the match when you give the speech.
