looking really good skin saint...going to post an update at end of season soon aswell....

how have you got the Liverpool link up
I am on 7.0.2 and the board wont let me have a parent club (pfft) but Cisse and Diarra will do well for you...

Be good to see how you got on mate, I know the first season is the toughest, things should start to get better as long as you avoid relegation of course!!

The board wouldnt let me have a parent or a feeder club due to being in debt, but at end of season one it appeared that Liverpool have linked up, I didnt even do anything and I wasnt complaining!!

1st September 2008 Update

Gimnástic fail to build on previous season

After scraping into the UEFA cup the previous season, and strengthening the squad, the manager was upset with a faltering season and finishing in 10th place, missing out on another place in Europe. He went on to say that the extra european games hit the squad with too many injuries and the back up players were not upto the job of La Liga. He is hoping for a similar unexciting season as the board spent most of the transfer money on extending the ground to 20000 leaving him with not much to work with.

--------------------

Transfers In
Enaut Zubikarai - Free Transfer
Florent Sinama-Pongolle - Loan from Liverpool
Silva - 825k from Vasco
Jermaine Pennant - Loan from Liverpool
Miran Pavic - 200k from Hajduk Split
Jonas Norgaard - 40k from AaB
Lee Naylor - 28k from Celtic
Magal - 10k from Rio Branco (SP)
Ellyieno - 550k from Flamengo
Bohuslav Danek - 30k from Mlada Boleslav
Edgar Barreto - Bosman from NEC
Gareth Bale - Bosman from Southampton
Miguel Angel Angulo - 525k from Udinese

Transfers Out

David Garcia - Bosman to Getafe
Marc Carrasco - Bosman to Xerez
Mingo - Bosman to Mallorca
Ruben Perez - Bosman to Getafe
David Medina - Bosman to Elche

------------------------

Im happy with the signings of Bale, Pennant, Baretto, Pongolle and Angulo. Think they will give me some creative class. My scout in Brazil has earnt his money by finding me lots of young talent, only problem is I can only have 3 EU in either of my teams, so im only signing ones with dual passports at the minute. Whether they turn out any good who knows!! Even my scout in Eastern Europe has found a few good youngsters (according to him) but again non EU is restricting me.

Im hoping for around mid table again this season. Im too weak up front to do more than that I think.

Skint

1st February 2009 Update

Gimnástic in unlikely Champtions League chase

Wow! is all I can say for the first half of the season. I didnt expect my team to do much due to a lack of firepower but Silva and Pongolle have built up a decent strike partnership and I find myself in 4th place with 23 games gone. Also in the quarter finals of the cup but after a 3-2 home first leg defeat against Barca I dont feel confident of getting to the semis!!!

Had to tinker with the squad a bit in the window.

-----------------------------------------

TRANSFERS IN
Eddie Johnson - 1.8m from Kansas City Wizards
John O'Shea - Loan from Man Utd
Scott Carson - Loan from Liverpool

TRANSFERS OUT

Lionel Scaloni - 45k to Empoli
Per Ciljan Skjelbred - 7.5m to Udinese
Stefano Seedorf - 160k to Le Mans
Albano Bizzari - 2.5m to Boca

-------------------------------------

Had an offer for Skjelbred which I couldnt turn down, he always seemed to be injured for me and only played 18 games since I brought him so was a nice cash injection into the club which im going to use to improve facilities etc. Bizzari went after Boca offered that, and with Carson available at no cost I decided to take it. Bizzari is a good keeper, but his mistakes were starting to cost me. And of course Johnson, I needed a Target Man and he was the cheapest around, also with Gil and Cardenas getting Spanish citizenship meant I could afford a non EU player.

1st July 2009 Update

Gimnástic storm to La Liga Success!!

In one of the most thrilling title finishes in recent years, underdogs Gimnástic beat Barca to the title after they both finished on the same points, but due to league results Gimnástic were crowned champions.

Supporters went mental and applauded the manager to bring them the title with one of the most average set of players ever to win it!

My Title winning first XI:

GK: Carson
RB: Magal
LB: Bale
CB: Llera
CB: O'Shea
DMC: Barreto
RM: Pennant
CM: Cardenas
LM: Gil
TM: Johnson
CF: Silva

Lost Pongolle to a broken leg so Johnson filled in well and provided the pace and power to take me to the title!
