I seem to remember in fm07 or 06, you actually got news item about clubs being in financial trouble and needing to offload players...?
Is my memory playing me a trick, or am I right?

you'd get an item about a good performance of a player, and below 'his position at the club may be bla bla bla if the club remains debt-ridden' or something like that

I've seen a few news items in FM08 saying things like "Barnes might not be one of the top earners at Derby but his future might be under threat if the club continue to plummet into debt" etc etc
