Think the board expectations is a great new feature, just imagine the pressure if you said you'd challenge for the league and it all boils down to those last few games, nailbitting stuff!

When will we have the option to tell the board

"I have no real interest in the league cup and will be playing a weakened side throughout" ?

When I play as a top team I am never interested in the league cup and should be able to tell the board that I see the other competitions as far more important.

Slightly concerned about the transfer confidance.

In FM07 ive just brough a couple of Italian youngstars. There stats were pretty good and they are set to improve alot according to my scouts. I spent around £8mill on both of them.

Whilst i am fairly confidant that they will become great players for the club eventully, for now they have since been shipped out on loan to another club in order to improve them even more.

If i did this in FM08 would the system be smart enough to realise that these will be great players eventually or would hte chairman shout at me for spending £16mill on players that arent playing>

What about those low division teams that buy nice youngstars and then chairman sell them without your approving? In my last fm2007 game, fans got angry with me because of that

Btw, a very nice feature, makes the game even deeper.

could one get sacked based on poor performances to do with finances/player signings or poor performances in the league cup/fa cup/champions league?

all excluding the league performances basically

Loving the Blogs, hope you keep them up past Friday for those of us who can't get the game until next week..

I've got the same concerns as sebsy and lloydy_cardiff, as discussed in other threads:

League Cup and other minor competitions: Board objectives

Especially with a "Big Four" type of team, neither fans or board expect you to win every competition out.. or even to take every competition seriously. It would be neat if the game-board recognized that - even to the point of not rating it "much success" that we won the League Cup. "Yeah, that's nice, but what else have you done, kid?"

Happiness with youth transfers: Fan/board expectations in FM08

I think its really clear that the board shouldn't expect every single transfer to make an immediate impact - there's plenty of us who play for the long term, spending money to acquire prospects who obviously aren't going to feature in the team their first year.
