Fair enough, everyone's entitled to their opinion and way of caring and supporting. If you too modest to criticise then it is a good thing for you.

Even if such a game was made with a match engine that exactly mirrored real life football, the usual suspects would complain that it's too hard, or that "it's meant to be a game". However well SI do when making FM, there will ALWAYS be the a small percentage of irate gamers (surprising how many of them are registered on here) harping on about trivial little things that isn't quite to their taste.

Except in this case the problems with FM08 aren't "trivial little things" are they?

with the latest beta patch, i'm experiencing the following:

match days take an age to get through, even with highlights turned off. i initially described it as twice as slow as fm2007 (and the 08 demo), but that was being generous

match stats bear no resemblance to reality. this includes both games that i'm managing in, and games between two ai teams (i'm managing an international side, and thus using the attend match feature). the fact that ai vs ai games are so crazy completely negates the typical fanboyish response of "omg you just suck at the game", because if it's the manager's fault, then si need to boost wenger and ferguson's in game stats a bit, because both struggle badly, and i'm yet to see a game in which ferguson isn't sacked or let go with no contract offered.

regens appear to be back to the state they were in for prepatched fm07, with player stats a complete jumble that are nothing like the players already in the game, and rarely anywhere near as good as.

i resent the idea that i'm supposed to test the game for si. i pointed out a facegen bug, and was told to upload a save game. why? all it takes it going into any saved game si already have and looking at the nations i've pointed out.

i've been checking gq regularly in the hope of either a patch or at least a fix for the game speed issue i've been encountering. instead, all i see are semi-coherent posts that not only tell people to stop being so negative, but that also labour under the impression that no one else is being positive. they are, in equally odious "don't complain" terms.
