Hands up who is tired of answering the same old variations of “Do you think you will win?” with effectively the same five answers? OK great, hands down now. We have more than enough posts complaining about the repetitive media, but nowhere near enough actually making suggestions of what we want to see.

So this is your chance to create a list of media questions that you want to see in the game. We have a much better chance of influencing the content of the next version by continually adding to this thread than by merely complaining "there’s not enough variation". It would be great if we could make this thread an invaluable resource to SI when they come to build the next game.

Just to make sure this doesn’t descend into unreadable chaos (assuming it manages more than ten replies before slipping off the first page!) or one liners that are of no use, I’ve thrown in some of my suggestions so you can just cut and paste the format.

Question: The game against TEAM B is a real six pointer. Do you think the winner will go on to win the title?

Criteria: First half of the season. Match between title contenders.

Possible Answers:
Yes, I’m sure we will go on to win the title.
We are breathing down TEAM B’s necks. I’m sure they will be worried.
We will do ourselves a massive favour by taking the points today.
No comment.
I’m sure both sides would take a draw if you offered it right now.
Titles aren’t won or lost in the first half of the season.
This is a must win game for us.


Question: Both teams look evenly matched. What do you think will be the deciding factor?

Criteria: Second half of the season. Teams within 4 or 5 points of each other and media prediction within two places of each other.

Possible answers:
I think we will create more chances.
Our fans always get behind us. It’s like having a twelfth man.
We’ve got a great bunch of lads here and TEAM B will need to work hard.
No comment
It will probably come down to tactics.
It could go either way, so concentration will be vital.
Games are won or lost in the midfield and we will need to be up for it.


Question: This is a must win game for you. How do you approach such a massive game?

Criteria: Second half of the season. Need the points to stay in touch with safety (however that is calculated!?)

Possible answers:
Belief is the key and mentally we’ve kept strong.
It’s down to me to get the best out of the players. If we stick to the game plan we should be fine.
Hard work and determination. And hopefully a little bit of quality.
No comment
All I ask is that my players give it everything they’ve got. I can’t ask more than that.
We’ve been working hard without getting the results. We are long overdue a bit of luck.
I’ve told the players they have to do much better if they want to stay up.


One final thought. I would also like to see the media report responses with a positive, neutral or negative slant (depending on a number of factors I can’t be bothered to work out!). Any misquoting or misinterpretation should be obvious, i.e so that it looks like the media stitching you up rather than FM drawing the wrong conclusion. This would happen based on your relationship with the media, so if you have a good relationship the media will be more likely to turn an innocuous comment in your favour (and any reactions from players).

Its spot on geez, but only problem is...is that your comments probably wont make a difference. I like the media aspect of it, but i dont think it has been changed much, if not any, from FM07. Its always the same question and answers. Also, after some games, the manager interaction screen, sometimes (most of the time) doesnt allow the post-match comments!!! I drew with everton 1-1 ( i was Boro) and i destroyed them, but to my surprise they had superman in goal (did you know he is also known as tim howard) so i was surprised to get one goal, anyhoo, i was fuming (they only had one chance and they scored, OFCOURSE ) i was so angry, that i wanted to slate Moyes, saying they were lucky B"&*%rds, but not in those words (although that would be nice), but to my disgust/horror there was no option for post match comment... oooh it P*&ses me off when it does that!! but i have seen many threads on this, about 07, but no use. So i just bottle it up, and just ....wots the word.....TOLERATE it, as it is a quality game and concept, and just that someday they may get there (hopefully not too far in the future).

I think that our squad is the best in the league at the moment.
I think we have a good chance of winning this year.
If my players can work together and score goals, I think we have a chance.

I'd like in the manager interaction section to be able to directly tell them where to go if they start talkin about your players!

It fecks me off when they do that and I think we should be able to say something to/about them in return

On a similar note, telling managers where to go when they make enquirys about your players

think there should be more interaction regarding individual players

We definitely need this sort of stuff in, but until there is a rarity field (e.g. once ever, once in a generation, once a year, frequent, anywhen) it can't be done. I tried modifying the manager comments to have stuff like this, but there is no control over how frequently it shows up.
