I know that in FM the purpose of a pre contract is to tie a youngster to a a new contract when they are 17. The thing I don't understand is why it is called a pre contract. It definatly a contract. Is this something that SI have made up to stop us complaining and whinging when the big clubs poach our youngsters?

I think its because legally people under 17 cant sign a contract. 'Pre contract' is just a tecnical term and i beleive its like a gentlemans agreement. Either side could break it if they wanted but its unlikely.

Why is this forum getting so nasty? If someone has a question why can't they get the benefit of the doubt and just have the question answered without sarcasim? Perhaps the guy just didn't know and he was serious. I would prefer if someone doesn't want to answer a question then they just not bother posting anything!
