Default How come I can't offer a pre-contract deal?
I've noticed that some players can't be offered a pre-contract deal, even though their contract expiry is less than 6 months away, are there certain rules, or is this a bug?

Forgive my ignorance if there are rules?

Try it around six weeks before their contract expires, the rules on domestic Bosman signings are slightly different to foreign ones.

aaah right, I thought that you could offer a contract 6 months before it expires, no matter where the player was based.
