That version has something special that I need to test.

c  documents and settings\arnold\mijn documenten\sports interactive\football manager 2006\db\belned

Nope it doesn't.
Allthough the application tells me this is the directory (except for the belned part) to put the database, I get a 'database location error' afther which he uses the default
That's the reason for trying the my documents folder, that I had to create.

The My Documents folder should already contain Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2006\.
If it doesn't then I'm guessing that you installed FM using a different profile and that the location of the true Football Manager folder is on another profile. This would be the only explanation I can think of as the db location is handled by the game (my utility just passes it the location of the db, guessing that Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2006 already exists.
So....
Was Football Manager installed on another profile other than yours?

It shouldn't do as the .net framework is universal.
What do you enter EXACTLY as the db location?
