Your senior coaches are indeed training your toungsters but much less effectively ( well maybe not in your case becuase you have youth coaches ). That is what I meant with the fact that my youngsters will be screwed. I'm hurting their development because they only get 2-star training

In my case, the youngsters get 3-4-5 stars and a single 2 even without the youth coaches... but then again, I have 7 regular coaches - 9 with the youth ones... and the board recommends 3 total -_-

I think you get three types- first team and youth (self-explanatory), and "coach" who can do both. Not sure whether doing both affects their workloads or not, but I think they're generally on a higher wage.

My Arsenal squad have five star youth training (default schedules), and are developing so well it's frightening.
