Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Coach Setup - Help needed...bigtime!

I seem to have my training regimes setup ok with different levels for different positions etc. But my question is, what is the best way to setup my coaches?

How many coaching sessions should each coach take? If for example an assistant manager can coach 1st team and youth team, should he only coach one skill for Senior and 1 skill for Youth - leaving him coaching 2 skills overall?

I have a few general coaches but if i selected one of my general coaches to coach Def and Tac for Senior, could i also do the same for him in Youth team? That would lead to him coaching 4 skills in a sense.

What ive been aiming at is having pretty much 2 separate coaching staffs - one for Senior and one for Youth. This way each staff member can coach 2 skills. I have a fear that if a coach is coaching 2 skills in a senior team and two for the youth team im not going to get the best results as even though it says my coaches schedules are on "Light" they are still spreading their workload over 4 areas.

Am I going about this the wrong way??? Any help would be appreciated

I would highly recommend getting 8 coaches (or 7 and your Ass Man).

Have each coach only train one skill and have him do it for both the youth and the senior team (same skill for both)

You want 5 stars in each of the eight training areas and this is the only way to do it.

Unless you have a huge team there should be no problem with workload, but if you do, just get a 9th coach to double up on hte none light schedules.

There is a link on the stickies that tells you what skills each coach needs to be 5 stars in a training area iirc.

Good news is that there are usually loads of 5 star coaches available on a free transfer.

Thanks for the reply Lambs

Just wondering then...should I basically not employ any youth team/ 1st team only coaches?

Should i just make all my coaches "general coaches" so that they can coach one attribute on both senior and youth training?

Just curious by the way FM2007 has 1st team only coaches, youth team only coaches etc. Is it pointless to have them as they are restricted to only coaching one set of players?

I have a related question - when I see the 1-20 score each coach has in different areas, mental, technique etc, can someone list here the different fields of coaching each value there corresponds with? Like mentality? a coach with 19 mentality, what should he coach, and so on.

Your coaches handling your strenght/aerobic training should have good stats in Level of disclipline. This seems to reduce the amount of injuries I get from this training
