Hi, I'm currently managing Eastleigh in the English Conference South and it has all gone wrong.
Spent my first season trying to build up a squad and cut the wage bill down and I finished a respectable 13th, just a couple positions below my predicted finish.
Come to the second season and I'm on fire, scoring bucketloads, but still conceding quite a few. However, I find myself 2nd at Christmas, while the media and the board expected a fight against relegation. I get to the beggining of February and everything goes wrong. I can't score and I concede even more, I pick up 2 points from twelve games and find myself in 17th position with only 6 points seperating me from the drop.
I have been using the Tactical Frameworks guide to base my tactics on and this was giving me great sucess until what I think has been the re-ranking. My defence has always been quite weak, because of the quality of players i could attract for less than £100 a week, but I was always in the mindset of I'll just score more than you.
Tried a sweeper system for five or six games to try and stop teams getting in behind my defence but they just seem to bang them in from all over the park now, to the point that the game is getting to the frustrating point.
Any ideas into how I could help stop the barrage from the AI, and how to help minimise the damage caused by the re-ranking?
Many thanks.
