Ha ha, don't mind at all.
I watch a lot of games in Full match mode.
Actually I was whizzing through the games a bit (OK relatively!) quicker before the patch was released, but since it came out I'm probably watching every second game on full match mode.
Not helping me much at the moment though! Just can't seem to get a grip on things again. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Ah I understand.
I tend to watch highlights only, then watch full games after I've played them. I seem to find more problems and solutions that way, rather than watching real time games. Strange but effective for me </BLOCKQUOTE>
No, not strange at all, I've taken to doing this too, post patch.
Watching the game you're playing there is too much of a temptation to keep dipping into the tactics screen and changing things.
Watching it back afterwards might not help with the result of that game, but I'm hoping it will with the next one.
As I said, not seeing the fruits of my labours again quite yet..... |

| I'm in the same boat, maybe not 29 hours, but a season will take me around 15-20 hours, mainly due to tweaking training & tactics continuously & scouting new talent...
Basically I have an astoundingly promising Youth Team that I probably won't get to use many of the players for a few months (realtime) as it takes me so long to get through a season.
& when you have a FT job, 2nd job & a demanding fiance (& a wedding to plan :cringe it can get pretty hard finding time to kick back for a couple hours.
Ah well, at least I'll be dominating in a season or 5! \o/

Glad you've got some good youth players.I've seen precious few come through my system. Always keep 4 on though for the Euro rules.
To be honest my only challenge, the one thing that would make me happy, would be to stop my wingers and lone, small, fast SC having to challenge for 10-12 headers every game.
I'd dearly love it. I'd hang my mouse up with glee if I could just manage it! |

| Its not a flaw, because you are a very strong side other teams are likely to shut up shop against you and defend very deep. In other words they try to frustrate you and hit you on the counter attack. This is very realistic with RL football and something you see week in week out. </BLOCKQUOTE>
okay, but i'm playing as QPR, not exactly a strong side, we did well in my first season but pretty terrible so far this sason. i understand where you are coming from but surely the players arnt stupid? should i be losing 4:0 to burnley after strengthening from last season, not stupidly strenthgenin, bought 3-4 players, 3 of them defensive inc peter enckleman and hossam ghali.... i dont know ey...
so what would you recomend? stick to my original system just tweak mentality and tempo and what not? will this eventually lead back to my good form?

4-4-2 is a formation, not a tactic. This is the mistake people make when they assume that a side keeps the same tactic for years on end. They don't. They don't even keep the same tactic for 90 minutes usually.
Tweaking mentality tempo won't work if you're suffering a major slump. The best thing to do is to go back to the drawing board and set up a basic 4-4-2 again and re-assess your situation. Where are you leaking goals, against which teams are you having trouble etc. Then create a tactic to fulfill the requirements of your new division or your new situation.
Your old tactic isn't a bad one - I'd keep that for similar situations to the ones you had last season. However you need a new 4-4-2.

Read the unofficial tactics bible thread up top, seriously its full of tips and ideas. Its a bit to read, but its worth it.
And Millie is spot on with what he says

This game is far far far far far far far far too heavy on tactics. In fact it's not much of a 'game' at all.
Players are incidental.
not very good.

| In that case may I recommend you play something easier for you like FIFA 2006 on PES. The game is not to heavy on tactics, you just don't understand the basics of the game, players are definitely not incidental, they are critical. And saying that the game is no good, is like the craftsman blaming the tools cos he doesn't know how to use them I've said it time and time before, keep things simple and you should be ok.

| I think you should be playing FIFA 07, sounds more your style.
If a dumbo like me can get enough help off this site to get a string of good results, how hard can it be.
And concidering how many people are addicted to this "game" I would argue that it is "very good" and infact your just "not very good" at playing it.

| Agreed mate, ignore the idiots who say you should play fifa, we dont want fifa we want something like FM06 again but with the improved parts from FM07.
FM07 is way too reliant on tactics, like the dude said it doesnt feel like a game as much, its more unrealistic than FM06.
And no dont say "go back to fm06 if u like it so much" cos i dont, fm06 has its flaws too
