What's going on?

Pre-patch I was doing very well with my own developed tactic but after patching the game I find the following problems:

* AI strikers easily run past my defenders and find themselves in front of goal.

* AI players in general are first to every ball, my players always seem to try and catch up and get stranded.

* AI strikers CREATE their own chances usually while mine, despite having right attributes and very high dribbling, usually just wait for a chance to be created for them.


Any notions on I can do against these problems?

P.S I'm playing a 4-1-2-2.

defenders are far more effective post patch from my observation. Whilst my defenders are more effective at intercepting and stopping runs they are also more prone to silly mistakes that lead to goals more often.

the main problem is, at the same time, opposiiton defenders stop my attacking allot. So to win woud require more risk; which leads to losing

Maybe you could try to get 11 players on the pitch, as with GK+4+1+2+2 you have only 10 of them

But on the serious note, I had similar problems after patch - before the patch I had a fine-tuned defense which was handling opposition quite good for the level I play. Just after the patch I had 5 games without a win, so had to tune tactics for the patch. Few experiments and I have more concentrated defense and better attack (at least I hope so after last 4 games with only 1 goal conceded and 7 scored, which is quite good for the worst team in the 3rd French division)

Tissy, your not the only one mate, i had the joint best defensive record in the league, along with Liverpool.

I just had a 5 game run with conceding a sausage, including 3-0 and 2-0 wins over Liverpool somehow.

Then suddenly as soon as i downloaded the patch...

2-2 draw with Millwall (FA Cup 3rd round)

0-3 loss to Chelsea (League cup semi's away leg)

2-0 win over Wigan (Premiership) "My only clean sheet since d/l of patch"

5-1 win over Millwall (FA Cup 3rd round replay)

1-2 loss against Arsenal (Premiership)

1-3 loss again too Chelsea who about 5 games ago i beat 3-0 (Leauge Cup semi's home leg)

5-1 win over Newcastle (FA Cup 4th Round), they had only 1 striker Ameobi but still caused problems compared to earlier in season

2-2 draw with Aston Villa (Premiership), worst defending i have seen in my season just not possible to hold a lead now

1-1 draw with Blackburn (Premiership), Jason Roberts goal scorer, again couldn't hold a lead despite making my regular changes.

Result Pre-Patch

I'll post just the previous 9 results as too make it even comparison to this.

(This is working backwards towards start of season)

2-0 win over Liverpool (Premiership)

3-0 win over Chelsea (Premiership)

2-0 win over West Ham (Premiership)

2-0 win over Portsmouth (Premiership)

2-0 win over Wigan (League Cup Quater Finals)

1-1 draw with Charlton (Premiership)

3-0 win over Newcastle (Premiership)

2-3 loss to Tottenham (Premiership)

Also previous to the Tottenham game i conceded 1 goal in 6 games... (It was a 1-1 draw with Boro)

Same here but I've probably found a solution though, Defensive line pushed up or dead center.
