I, along with many others have been struggling to get a 4-4-2 tactic that works consitently.

I had devised a relaible tactic prior to the patch for FM 2007, but things had radically changed since.

I've tried a few things which seem to work, but after a couple of games it's same old story. I'm not wanting any of this "the AI is adjusting" balls.

I honestly believe I've given a good shot at trying to get back to where I was pre-patch.

Or 'us' I should say.

I'm Glasgow Rangers FC once again, and after scraping into 3rd in second season, my days are numbered I'm afraid.

Clearly I need to change from 442
Leaking goals a plenty
Even Falkirk beat me
Occasionally I get a good run
Never has such a bad season

I want to make 442 work on the patch
St. Johnstone will probably beat me lol

Ahhhh...

Pressing works erratically
Really need to watch a game in 'real time'
It will let me get clues to become beter
Clean sheets every other game on average
Killing teams off is an issue

Just a list of problems I'v had.

I started off with 442 normal, the default tactic, defaults were very good for FM 2006 and I thought so too for this one, a 7-0 victory in my first game.

Stuck with this and got humped 3-1 in my next. So I've been using low creativety and direct passing for GK and defenders, I'll go a few games with out conceding and then it goes to pot.

And the instructions you have been using? Player and team ones? If you need help you have to be detailed as possible about this, or its all just guess work.

Seriously RMD, what's the point in the personal insults?

Cleon, Rashidi and others are mods on these boards, and as far as I'm aware they aren't paid to do so. They help to keep the boards free of the same old nonsense "wat iz da best taktik", etc and actually encourage some discussion.

Not saying I always agree, but if you have a problem with the rules then there are ways of going about having them changed. No need to abuse those that enforce the rules that stand.

Otherwise we'll end up with mods so p!ssed off they chuck it and we have a board so filled with idiotic clutter that you can't find any good stuff worth reading.

I've said my opinion a few times now. I do appreciate what mods do - when the job is done consistently and fairly. I admit I've been immature, I could be the adult and write an apology and forget it happened and would have if I felt that Cleons moderating was fair and constructive on all counts.

Yes, he/she is giving up their own time and this should not be ignored, I am grateful for this as there are many terrible threads out there (including some I've started) but who's moderating the mods? Making sure they are not taking liberties.

Cleon has started and contributed more helpful threads than I ever will, I'm not going to take that way from he/she. I just ask (as I've said) the there is greater consistency.
