Believe it or not this is actually the first time I've managed a conference side since stalybridge celtic in the CM01/02 demo.

A 19 year old forward found by my youth scout in january solved my scoring problems and my defence stayed secure (third best in the division). I had a good cup run getting to the 3rd round of the FA cup and semi-final of the FA trophy.

The clubs still in debt by £200,000 would be more if it wasn't for the TV money .

I Did have the 6th highest average attendance in the conference but I'm afraid that givens Weymouth's location on the English riviera the population demographic dictates that most of these were probably sold at Concessionary OAP prices .

Like I said earlier I've definetly got some potential here, my 15 now 16 year old midfielder played 27 games last year ( I hope I didn't burn him out) this was through neccesisty.
Hopefully I can get some cover in time for next season so that I can rest him a bit.

My starting line up in the last game of the season had an average age of 19.71 and with my two 33 year old veterans scheduled to retire in june I will have only 3 players over 20 years of age.

I was also pleased to see Ankarra D.S. got relegated from the Turkish D2B , That'll teach them to sack me

I had great hopes for this season, three relatively crap squad players were sold over the summer bringing in a unbelivably high figure of £275,000 in transfer fee's . Thus enabled me to add another two player's to my squad, a 23 old midfielder from coventry who has turned out to be the creative lynchpin of the side (only midfielder with creativity in double figures) my chairmen likes him I know this as he tells me every month . I also splashed out my first ever transfer fee £6k to secure the keeper I had on loan last season on a more permanent basis.

I was actually leading the league from the start until christmas then the indespensible midfielder got injured for 3 months and my keeper got injured in march for one month. I still managed to keep in touch with scarborough and when i met them for the proverbial six pointer with 6 games remaining I was only 5 points adrift, I had three players sent off and lost 4-0 , so that was it and the young well younger players got a chance of first team action in the next four ties.

Only 1 player was added over the summer a new goalkeeper who came from crewe on part exchange for one of my backup defenders. He would soon usurp my old no 1 keeper for the goalkeeping jersey.

The wolves (literally) have been sniffing around the young striker I signed midway through my first season at weymouth, he is a bit of star and has been banging in goals on a regular basis. One glance at his stats confirms to me that he is well overqualified to play in the conference, thankfully I manged to up his release clause from £200k to £750k during negotiations for a new contract and wolves have so far only offered £300k for him.

Looks like the football league for me next season , although I'm not getting carried away as although the conference is a hard division to get out off It's very easy to get back into

Nice going! Winning the Conference 17 points clear of the 2nd placed team is no lean feat. KUTGW!

Well, yes. Weymouth did pretty good too, didn't they

I guess my brain/eye/hand coordination went AWOL there. See I was looking at Scarborough, and then you, and then... Well I don't know what I meant really. Thought you were Scarborough. Nevermind, KUTGW

The man who deserves your accolade is Russel Slade who has been in charge of the Scabbies since 2001 and led them to a respectable mid table position in Div 3 last year

however winning the conference by 4 points from macclesfield is no mean feat , but it's all academic now as I've just been informed that Weymouth will not be getting promoted due to the crappy wessex stadium (our home ground) not being up to the task .

I'm currently debating what to do as i've been offered the Raith rovers job in Scottish div 2. I'd love to stay at weymouth but I have serious doubt's about when I'll ever be top dog in the conference again and if I am will I have a decent stadium.

I'm doubly annoyed as i had requested a stadium expansion around march last year and even used the ultimatum thingy and had the fans backing as well as 300k in the bank, so I thought I would be ok.

However my chairman in his wisdom spent 120k developing the training facilities from there awful status to ok .

I'd love to take this club to the top but I don't think my promising young players will stick around for another god knows how many years of conference football.

It's a quandry

I'd jump ship I were you Raith Rovers just sounds much better than Weymouth, and the team name is what I always go by when managing teams I know nothing about
