I wouldn't exactly say I manage my shortlist. It's more like a pile of laundry on the floor. Sometimes you need something so you'll rummage about and pull something out, never knowing if its really clean or dirty, but if there are no other options than it has to do

I've never seen either problem. I don't play with my shortlist from week-to-week. Of course, at 38 pages, one might debate how short it is too. LOL.

I get my scouts to re-scout everybody when I get promoted. Nothing seems to happen for about a month then the reports on all the players seem to come in at once.,..Clickty click..edit..Clickty click.. remove..Once I am half way through I wish I had never started it.

Does having a scout/s "off duty" speed up the process?

Yes, it does--during the season. Off Duty scouts will go through players you've marked to scout more or less in order you asked for the players to be scouted.

It's still mighty slow though. I find it personally better to do this my way, and just search the nations and then scroll through the list when he finishes his search to see how he rated players already n my short list. But that's just me.

I will do a 'clean out' every 5 CM years in a game, and delete anyone over 33.

occasionall I may take someone off the list after a couple of years. This is when I get news on them, and they don't seem to be as good as they were back when I shortlisted them.
