There has indeed been a series of loans between human managed clubs in the LLM clan game. Also a few free transfers etc. All LLaMas in good standing involved.

I think that qualifies as a slight bending of the rules, though none of the deals have been ridiculous, and of course the players concerned had to agree to move clubs within the confines of their normal "programming."

I think this is a great example of a newbie(in LLM) who reads the rules has a question and asks it. It is these things I find to be of great benefit to this forum, however, I find the "it's your game so you can play it anyway you please" argument a tad dismissive, and I mean no offense to you jraldous, but I fear that we sometimes dismiss a perhaps promising LLM'er with these kinds of arguments.

As far as I can see this is a welcome discussion of a topic that has not been discussed in detail and to which we had better be prepared come CM4. I have only tried one online game following the LLM ethos. It was Craig, Jeff and myself who played. That meant that trust wasn't an issue, cause we had no reason not to trust each other. In LLM games trust will be the decising factor because as iajafer stated you can't tell if anyone are using third party helpers. I know who I would trust to play an online game with and who I wouldn't.

As for the loans from other human players you'd have to ask yourself is this loan realistic, if it is I say go right ahead, but I doubt many players on a premiership side would willingly go to the conference, same goes for first division, however, that said there will always be exceptions.

In the end, and this goes for all areas of your LLM game, you have to ask yourself whether this would happen in real life or not, if you find that it would be unlikely to occur, then I suggest you refrain from doing so.

Anyways, good luck with your game and I do hope tou stick around

I think iajafer is right. We all try to play the game as realistically as the game allows.

I'm not sure about this, but talking with other human managers either over instant messengers or other means isn't exactly the type of talk the game allows. There is no way to interact with AI controlled teams, so I think it is just fair to treat also human controlled teams the same way.

In my single player games I had it happen more than once that a kind of "relationship" appears between my team and a different one. This happens for example when the other club gets a cash injection or sell a big player and use this money to buy several of my listed players.

Since I am quite interested into seeing how my former players play at their new place sometimes I spot a nice player there who is listed for transfer or for loan and send scouts to watch him - so eventually there is a larger chance that players get exchanged within these two clubs than otherwise.

But still, my point is that in multiplayer games people should best try to act like in a single player game, so these "am i cheating" questions can be avoided.

Woppa, to paraphrase Jon "It's your game...", but as you can see the vast majority of LLaMas want nothing to do with it. It's against LLM Ethics.

The argument you used is the same as the "you can see it on the internet..." one. It goes on in real life, but the facility isn't there in the game so it should be avoided.

I'll close any update thread that includes those "arrangements".

I don't think this is cheating, as long as it is done in the right way.

For instance, Dario Gradi at Crewe has had a friendly relationship for years, with Liverpool youngster often going on loan to Crewe on loan to gain experience and Liverpool buying some of Crewe's better players This enabled Crewe to reach Division 1, where they stayed for a few seasons before relegation last year.

So I don't think personally that Mat is cheating doing this, as long as he doesn't abuse it. As long as his friend doesn't pay an excessive amount for Mat's star players and as long as Mat's friend doesn't free transfer or sell Mat players on the cheap.

I myself probably wouldn't do it without being an official feeder club, but that is just my opinion.

The debate goes on

The debate ends. I repeat, I'll close any update thread that includes those arrangements.
