Default Question - Does having a synthetic (artificial/plastic) pitch make any difference?

I have noticed in the editor you can change your pitch type to synthetic.

Does it make any difference in the game at all?

Do opposing teams struggle to adapt? (ie like England in Russia recently)

I would hope to see no waterlogged pitches or worn out areas....

Anyone got one?

Its amazing you start a thread asking for some feedback on certain issues with the game and you get 2 replies.

You start a thread moaning about SI, Demanding the Patch, Blaming the testers or whingeing about something and you get every man and his dog replying.

I guess I should try a different tact

Thanks gmb01512 & NepentheZ - keep the faith and live the dream!

If this option is only available through the editor, maybe if you post it in the editors forum you'll get more replies?

Bodis - yes you are quite correct I may get more replies in the editors forum, but there are some teams that have synthetic pitches in the game without the need of the editor (spartak moscow is one I know of)....

So I thought the question is more relevant to this board...

Maybe no-one knows the answer.

I'd guess the synthetic pitch is in there for the same reason retractable roof and undersoil heating are: to prevent postponements.

Sadly though, postonements were removed from FM a while ago, so these are now obsolete!

(Note I am still on FM2007, so postponements might be back! Doubt it though...)

Can I join? How many clubs have synthetic pitches in the game set as standard and are they in leagues where the majority of teams to do e.g. is the same for them all?

International sides clearly is different. Russia anyone?

Sure as a fellow blue I have no objections to that.

In answer to your question - no idea?

Is there any in scotland?

Do Russia fair any better at home?

Maybe one of our Ruski friends can shed some light as to whether Spartak fair better at home?

Just wandering , would having a synthetic (artificial/plastic) pitch not be an advantage for a team that plays a quick - short passing game ?? rather like playing a narrow formation on a tighter pitch can benefit poor teams playing against top teams who play a wide and expansive game ??
Having played on artificial pitches myself , I know that the ball does zip-about alot quicker than on a normal grass pitch(unless it has been well watered before hand).
