That would only be a logical argument if SI had modelled the entire football world perfectly in the last version, which they clearly hadn't.
I don't particularly think that FM08 is a let down, but making silly arguments doesn't help anyone's position.

My point is that people keep saying there's nothing new, no wow factor is a common phrase.
Well there's been no wow factor in football either.
The only real path for SI is to develop what's already there and certainly things like interaction with media and board are wooden and limited.
As I see it there's plenty of scope to improve modules of FM but big innovations will only come with new technology.
Interaction is by triggered text strings, I don't see a way to improve it other than creating a huge library of options to be triggered.
Many of them have impact on other things so it would be quite a challenge I think. </BLOCKQUOTE>
That's one of the funniest things I've read all day if not this week. Think about what it is that you're saying. There are plenty of things in 'real' football that are yet to be implemented in FM. Off the top of my head there are ten things available to a manager that we do not have in FM. To use your argument, as the previous poster said, FM would need to reflect the real football world 100%. It doesn't.
Nevertheless, I don't disagree with you completely (I think, I'm not sure you know what you're arguing exactly) it would be nice to have a fully functioning set of modules without having new features implemented for the sake of it. The problem is, this is exactly what SI has done. There were many features from FM2007 that needed fixing and instead of doing so, we get new features such as 'confidence' which in themselves don't work.
Anyway, let's hope it all works out for the best

Yeah, i had a good laugh with that one as well
Football the game hasn't changed, so FM doesn't need to?
Whilst FM is a solid game as it is, there are many things that can be vastly improved on it, the media interaction for one.
It's fine if you enjoy playing FM, i do as well, but other people have the right to criticize the game if they choose.
