A few really important ideas for improving the game
Hi, I just wanted to tell everybody about some thing in FM08 that really annoy me.
I find it really frustrating that I cannot talk to and interact with my players and my chairman the way I wish to.
For example, a player that grew in my club and is really attached to it (in real life also) suddenly wants to move, after two years of which the club was performing greatly.
That is understandable, the player wants to move on and progress, but why is there no way to talk to him (personally, not via the press) and ask him why he wants to leave, or try to convince him staying and asking him what it takes. Such a player should have a talk with his manager and do all those things, just like in real life.
The second thing is with the chairman. In the same example, the club has received an offer for the player and the chairman accepts it without my consent. There should be a way to tell this chairman that not only is this player very important to the club, but also that in the future the player will be worth so much more than what was given in that offer.
It's just annoying that I cannot affect this, and I lose my best players and don't even get the transfer fees into my season budget.
I know you think that one player is not so bad to lose, but to me it happened with three key players which are irreplaceable, especially with my given budget.
I hope everyone at SI understand what I'm talking about and consider putting those features in the next installments.

Yeah, I believe that is somehting in the game that needs to be enhanced. I believe many people in the forums have already complained about the media depth etc. Lets hope SI do something to make us devour ourselves in the news section again. I loved reading the news and media but now its getting too repetitive!
This is sort of off-yourtopic but I do wish we had the chance to choose if we wanted to have joint inbox rather than two

Nick i think those are brilliant points. Player/chairman interaction along with improved and more varied media interaction for me is the most important thing that needs to be addressed for fm09.

I completely agree, this would be a massive leap forward for the game. They should have left the match engine alone and really focused on player/fan/board interaction. This would make the game so much more enjoyable, and every game would mean something. Also, if you are a good manager and put a lot of time into the game, you should get rewarded, if you are crap manager and lazy with the game and can't get anywhere you are in danger of getting sacked. At the moment, anyone can get sacked even if they're doing a brilliant job, and for the most stupid of reasons.

Nice to see you all agreeing to my views, I hope SI will do the same.
And White Raven, you are absolutely right. A manager who has led the team to winning great things can get sacked only because the board is acting with no sense.
