Default Training/Youth Facilities

For the curious of mind, what sorts of things do improving the training facilities actually do? Does the grass on the field get mowed more often, lines get painted more regularly, cuter girls to hand out the oranges at break times?

Excellent training facilities attract the best players. Players tend to compare training facilities between one club and the other.

Excellent youth systems help develop good youngsters, sometimes even hot prospects and stars. Within 1/2 years these can be sold for a good sum of money.

Well obviously nothing visual happens. In essence, your youth players will have the chance to better themselves, whereas youth players at clubs with lesser facilities will have slightly less chance.

A quick answer would be : the facilities get improved. Sorry if thats too simple, but I'm not sure what you want from this answer, if anything.

Guess I was just curious in what upgrades actually get done which makes training better. I would've thought all you need is a field and staff to coach.

Fields can be muddy and full of dog mess. Coaches can be rubbish.

So I'd rather be training at Carrington with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Makes sense really.

Upgrading will also have a long-term financial benefit as the club value will rise significantly every time you improve your facilities.

I'm not an expert, but I would think there is a whole lot more to it than that.
Some clubs pick players up from school, give them academic coaches, etc. Maybe even give them dietary advice. All that costs money. But there are also things to consider like how many pitches you have available for your youth teams, which influences how long each team can train and the state of the pitch they train on.
And then there are fitness facilities, perhaps even a room for video analysis, facilities for indoor training, nice dressing rooms, decent showers, etc, it all adds up to better training facilities.
