Question for you. I've been playing FM since the legendary days of CM 01/02 and this is the first time i've thought about this as i'm thinking of doing it when i get home.
If you a bought a crap player with, what you think to have a very low potential, who plays for a crap team e.g low rep, rubbish facilities etc and brought him to your team with immense facilities and rep, would his potential rise.
For example, you buy a player from a random country, i dunno, kazakhstan who's club has a low rep and what have you, and brought him to your club that has top traininf facilities etc, would his potential increase as your giving him a much better chance of improving?
Thanks in advance if anyone decides to respond

no - what would rise is the chance of him reaching his potential.
E.g. 2 players with a PA of 170
one joins tranmere, the other chelsea, the first would have something like a 10% chance of reaching his PA, the second more like a 50% chance (randon percentages just to give some idea of what i'm saying).
As it is i feel that the current PA/CA system is fine - it's not perfect but i'm not sure a truly perfect system could be implemented.
There have been absolutely loads of arguments about this recently, I'd recommend skimming through the first 4 pages of this forum and you should find a good few threads arguing the merits of PA, and offering some excellent suggestions for improvements that could be made to the development model.
