i was a massive fan of the old champ managers, i could as far as to say i wasted my youth playing it lol

i didnt purchase a new edition of champ man for about 2 years as my computer was rubbish and just about played CM4.

anyway i bought a new laptop and CM 2007. its ok game but its not the same as the old ones.
some one told me that the makers of the old CM went over to footy manager.

which one should i buy next? THANKS FOR UR TIME.

buy fm07, its out of date yes, but its better and cheaper than fm08 (for now) and alot more fun to play. once youve got used to the way its played i would say get fm08 if the 8.02 patch solves any of the annoying bugs that exist in it, eg. you need to have like 22 shots at goal to win 1-0.

but yeah go for fm07 in my opinion alot of people will disagree with me but its just what i think.

IIRC, when SI and Eidos split, SI kept the code and Eidos kept the name. So FM is the offspring of the old CM games.

If you want an unbiased view I wouldn't ask on the SIgames forums as they're the creators of Football manager

That said, FM08 is the best in the series of FM (in my opinion) and its light years ahead of CM.

P.S. If picking strictly an FM title, go for FM07 and patch to 7.0.2. Best FM ever!

yeah cm0102 is prob the best i only changed to fm08 as i have been playing cm0102 for 7 years and fancied a change but im sure il be back to cm0102 soon although only with the november2008 update and the tapani patch
