I have just got a new, gee whiz, computer that is supercharged for Football Manager and want to move my database that I slaved away on over from the old computer to the new one. How can I do that? I am not sure where the file is kept and if I CAN move it over to the nw PC.
You can just copy your saved game file over which is stored in the sports interactive folder in my documents withina a games folder if I remember correctly.
Yeah, not too fussed about the saved game as I only just started a new one (Hucknall) and am only 4 games in. What I want to do is move the Database that I made in the Editor.
I'm not sure about custom databases but the 8.01 database is saved in "CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\data\updates\update-801\db\801" for default installations.
If you have a USB memory stick, just use that to copy your files over.
Just figured it out if anyone cares. The file was in C: documents and settings, not program files. went into sports interactive - DB and there is was, copied it over to the new computer and it is working fine

Set up both your computers side-by-side. Locate the database file you wish to move, right click on your mouse and select either "cut" or "copy". Unplug the mouse from your old computer, plug it into your new computer and after locating the Football manager 2008 directory, "paste" the db file inside.
You're all ready to go!
You work in the IT department in my office, don't you?
