I was in the midst of one of the longer career games I've had in CM/FM since I first started playing it back in 1998 (10 years?? :eek

when FM08 came out. I immediately jumped to the newer game, and even with all the problems, I have to say I find ot much more addictive than I found 07.
Unfortunately, I had to start a new career game when 8.0.1 came out because it did nothing to fix the fixture rescheduling problem for ongoing games (not sure it fixed it for new games, either, but I started in the BSP the second time so it didn't seem to matter). Since then, I have twice had to start new games because of the XML Parsing Error problem. So far, so good, but if it happens again, I will probably then go back to FM07.
Despite the problems with the match engine, which 8.0.1 seems to have made worse, I find it still has a more realistic feel than did FM07 (except when teams make the kinds of mistakes my son's team used to make at U11). In FM07, every single match, whether you were in the Irish Premier Division or the Serie A, looked exactly the same.
