Default Will I have to start again when 8.0.2 arrives?

Firstly, I'm sorry for posting regarding the 8.0.2 patch as I know it's a touchy subject as many people ask about it each day and it just irritates the regulars. I'm not asking when it comes out though, I can deal with it being "out when it's done" kinda thing, but what I do wish to know is in relation to certain bugs.

I know where is a major training issue where it's not working properly (but was in 8.0.0), then the tactics bugs such as players heading the ball out on a corner miles away from the near post, etc. My question is, will I have to start a new game to enjoy the fixes from the new patch, or will I be able to continue on from my current game? I guess that most of the fixes will just get applied and will work with my current save, BUT I'm concerned that some of the major ones won't be applied until you start a new game and if that is the case I'd like to know so I can stop playing at the moment and start again when the patch comes.

I did search for this to see if had been asked already and answered, but I couldn't find anything applicable. If it has been answered I'd be grateful for a link to the thread so I can read the response.

Thanks!

Some changes, such as match engine tweaks, will immediately take effect. Others will require you to start a new game. When the patch is released, with a list of changes, you will be able to tell what's save-game compatible, and what isn't.

8.0.1 could be added without it affecting any games you had started and I assume that the same will be so for 8.0.2.

There would be a long line of people complaining if it wasn't so I am sure.

SI usually takes the following approach:

- ensuring that the patch is save-game compatible so that you can continue if you want to,

- recommending that you start a new save game.

Of course, past performance is not a predictor of future events, as any financial analyst will tell you!

...

Personally, if I had a long-term save I was still enjoying, I'd apply the patch and continue playing it.

If I did not, I would start a new game with 8.0.2.
