This is the first I have heard regarding it and hopefully others will have a lot more information that I do, but reading this article, http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...114427,00.html about Blackburn applying for the Intertoto cup this season it mentions this is the last time they will be able to as it will close after next season.

I just wondered if this is something that should be implemented in any forthcoming patches, as far as I'm aware it isn't currently in the game.

Like I said though I don't have any more information regarding the intertoto cup closing, had a quick look on google but couldn't see anything, it could just be a case of John Williams being misquoted.

IIRC UEFA announced that the intertoto cup is to end at the same time as they announced the changes to the Champions League.

I'm not sure if they will do anything about it in the patch though. Most likely IMO to be changed for the next years release instead.

The patch won't change this, though I've read about the Intertoto going, so i'm sure SI will reflect this in the game as and when it disappears irl.

It won't be included in any patches as you wouldn't be able to continue any saved games from 8.0 or 8.0.1 as the changes are so massive.
