Anyone else get a parent club without actually asking for it?

I was managing HK in Iceland and starting to get linked to Premier League jobs. All of a sudden Newcastle announce that they are now our parent club. They were also linked with bringing me in as manager, so i started thinking, "wouldn't it be hilarious if they only set up this link to try to get me into the club?"

One week later, they offered me a contract

If the two events are linked, then i have say, cheeky stuff, SI...cheeky stuff!

.. thats quite unusual with the job offer.!

A few times I've been allocated a Parent, and Feeder club without asking for one.
