Well I dont know where somehow I've gone wrong between FM2005 and FM2006, but the kits I've downloaded seem very random (mainly Italy to be honest) now I've swapped them from 05 to 06. I'm only assuming its in the config files. I had a `done and sorted' folder on my hard-drive ready to just drop into the new game from FM05, but to no avail. Sometimes, say Inters kit shows up as a shorts-less one ie: default, sometimes it shows as a 2GT kit, sometimes it doesnt show any kit at all.
Cant think where I've gone wrong. I've tried deleting the configs and repairing the installation by running setup off the cd, but it just points everything back to the original kits again (which it re-loads whilst repairing) and round I go again. Doing my head in big time.
Look like waiting for a 2GT superpack with configs included, which doubtful anyone will make as most people seem to be dropping kits in and they work perfect.
Anyone any clues? Anyone even understand this ramble?!!
Assuming you don't want the defualt kits that are installed with FM2006, go to the folder where you installed FM2006, browse to:
\data\graphics\pictures\kits\clubs
Now delete all the country sub-folders you have your own kits for.
Next transfer over the kits you want, I'd suggest putting them in folders with different names than the default ones (i.e. if the default one is called ita, call yous italy), this should stop the game overwriting your kits on future patches.
Now you have your kits (and corresponding config files) in the FM folders. Load up FM2006.
Goto preferences, untick use skin cache (some people have also advised you to delete the contents of the data\cache folder before you load FM, to reload the cache). Switch skins to reload the graphics, click confirm.
If your kits show, then you can go back to your normal skin and turn skin cache back on.

This was the bit that sorted me! Brilliant. Cheers
