This would explain why my defensive tactic never looks as solid as my attacking one.

Were as the attacking tactic has all normal mentalities, but the defensive one has some players on defensive and some forwards on attacking.

Looking forward to testing this.

I'm not suggesting I have created an ubeatable tactic, however I would go a far as saying I have created a tactic that consistently works on FM2007 (at last) without tweaking every game. I have just finsihed my second season winning the the FA Cup and Premiership with Wolves by 10pts only losing 2 games all season home to Chelsea and away at Arsenal by the odd goal. After the re-ranking I played more often than not with my attacking formation and it just worked fantacstically well. I even had a message that I was a tactical genius (lol). I'm off to conquer Europe now and hopefully get the Leeds job to put them back where they belong!!

away is shocking so i'm going to change formation to 4-1-3-2 to see if that helps

Pele, try using the attacking formation in away games then swith to defensive when you are winning.

i've tried mate but i think its the formation not the settings.

won away 3-1 against wigan with new attacking 4-1-3-2

just played my 1st home game with the new 4-1-3-2, it was a cup game against qpr won 6-0 but the stats where great 66% poss 83% pass comp 26 shots

a season and a half and i've never lost at home playing defensive still trying for the same away

when u say in ur attacking tactic that everything is opposition, what exactly did u put for the individual mentalities?

If it's literally "opposite" (well shifted to the other direction), then im correct to say u did the following?

Defenders mentality: 15
Midfields Mentality: 17-18
Forwards Mentality: 20
