Since the new patch all my old tactics work. before not one of them worked! is this because they`ve solved the bugs or is it because alot of people was losing alot of their games and losing interest?
What do you mean by old tactics? From FM06? I myself am kinda losing interest in FM07; too many improbable comebacks from the AI, and far, far too tactical.
I had one tactic I used effectively in both FM05 and FM06 and it didn't work pre-patch on FM07.
I have had some success at FM07 but the AI comebacks are ruining the game.
No not from fm06,my tactics for fm07. before the patch, 5 of my tactics just did`nt seem to work and i`d spent hours creating them, now all of them have an effect. i just feel the new patch has not just fixed the bugs but also made it a bit easier for people who had given up and gone back to fm06!

And how many times have you been in the lead and not done something simple like move to high time wasting for the final few minutes, play narrower and/or bring on defensive players?
Most of the time the AI's comeback against me it's been my own ineptitude (like forgetting to stop my defenders running forward, still attacking when only 1-0 up etc.)
You can save yourself a truckload of time and prevent AI comebacks, by creating tactical "templates".
I have four variations of the same tactic, which I use at the appropriate times:
Home (Attacking)
Away (Counter Attacking)
Uber Defensive (For defending a lead and wasting time, haven't conceeded a goal yet with this formation)
All-Out Attack (Whenever I need a goal, I employ this at about 65 minutes during a home match)
When I was more minnow-like relative to my division I had another one called Normal, (which was neither attacking nor defensive) and used Uber Defensive more frequently, sometimes to even start a match.
Just set the player instructions and positions appropriately and there will be a lot less effort in the matches for you and you won't make crucial mistakes with instructions.
This also prevents that lazy feeling of not wanting to change your tactics to defend a lead. It's easy when you have templates!

Actually I always used to do those things and it kept blowing up in my face. I found the best thing is to jack up timewasting, and slow down the pace but I NO LONGER bring in an extra dmid of defender. I even move they attacking slider 5 spaces to the lest when they are playing 4 upfront.
