The above formation is my preferred formation - I use it with Ricardo & Marchisio as MC's, Adu/Modric/Cardenas/Kalou sitting behind the two strikers ready to play through balls etc.
It's fairly narrow but my wingbacks are instructed to bomb forward - I generally use this against teams of similar ability to me and use my attack as a form of defence - I have a pretty high quality back row and DM to take care of any counterattacks.

I use this formation with Cardenas/Ronaldo/Duff/Kalou providing width and crosses with the AM set to get into box frequently.
However, something feels missing. It's hard to put my finger on it because match stats seem fine (generally have high possession, high shots on goal, plenty of crosses but my tackles is always pretty low which makes sense 'cause I'm in possession more) but it just doesn't feel "right".
maybe your just bored with dominating all the time and winning all your games and need a new, harder challenge. i find this a lot becuase after a while on my villa games in previous versions ( i am a villa fan by they way) i get a bit bored with the fact that I have no competetion and i have the majority of world class players and no other team can match me (for example in FM06 i went 3 seasonns unbeaten and in one of those seasons i won every game )
you might want to try a game starting in the lower dividions to provide a more of a challenge or even play in another country that you have no footballing knowledge of to make it more interesting
p.s what year are you in as your team looks quite amazing
