After several screaming hissy fits at my players I have abandoned my defensive counterattacking away and slow tempo control game at home. I dont seem to be able to score with any regularity and the opposition would always score at least one no matter how defensively I set up.

In sheer frustration I went with an attacking direct 4-2-4 home and away which has seen my pompey team climb up the table to 2nd place with only a few games to go. Lots of high scoring thrillers and totally unrealistic of premiership football but I think you are right the opposition are using very attacking formations now and if you cant beat them then join them I say.

If I could just work out what to say to my players when Im 3 or 4 up at half time then all would great

If the AI plays an attacking formation ie, 4-2-4 then stop your full backs making forward runs, increase passing to 14 (direct) and focus passing down the wings as the advancing oppostion will leave big gaps at the back. Hopefully should see you score a goal and kill the game off or the AI revert to adifferent formation!!

yes, in a way it's great, but the thing is difference between home and away is too big.

My point is, if ur playing a team ur supposed to beat, during the season you'd find the way that team plays against u at home is ALLOT different from when their at home.

Coz if a team is crap, home or away they shud be crap

I've played 14 games.

Home Record: P6 W6 D0 L0 For 14 Ag 2

Away Record: P8 W0 D1 L7 For 4 Ag 11

The difference is utterly rediculous. I even resorting to changing to some tactics I found on here but nothing works. Annoying think is my first season with the patch was great and I finished second (although it was a very very very scrappy season, Villa won!).

Teams aren't crap - they simply have differing strength levels depending on many factors including injuries, coaches, form, Managers style of play, confidence and conditions on the day.

Any side can beat any other side on their day. Sides naturally have an advantage at home because of familiar surroundings and crowd support. They will feel more comfortable there and obviously their style of play will be different than away. A side that performs badly away might be quite strong at home.

i'm playing as ac milan and for the first 4 seasons i was destroying the league won it 4 in a row 82 points 1st season with 8 point hadicap, 86 points in the 2nd season, 101 in the 3rd, and 93 in the 4th, then i got that patch 7.0.1 and i'm 22 games in the 5th season and already lost 7 games all of them away including 5-1 against the bottom team.
