As Lyon, I had noticed when I did my own team talks that none of my players were particularly inspired by my speeches.
I've recently hired Tony Colbert (who has 19 Motivating) as my assistant coach. I heard that if you give your assistant manager control over your team talks, he will make the team perform better if he has good Motivating. I've tried it and I'm seeing a significant improvement in the individual performances of my players. Has anyone else ever tried it?
I allways make sure I have an assistant manager with high stats in motivation and man management, and leave all team talks to him. I have no worries whatsoever with morale of my team, he does a good job. And as team talks are one of the least interesting features of the game, in my opinion...
Same here, IMO, team talks are just a waste of time, let the ass man do it and make sure he does a good job.
Anyway, I've tried it for a few games with P. Rice at Arsenal, didn't notice much though but there's a few games where I made a fantastic comeback during the 2nd half.
I agree with u awhec .... is just a waste of time but on start of d game .... I never managed to achive any effect with my coments on game start but on the half time u can make a huge deference expecialy if u loosing.
Applaying a angry atitude can help in 70% situations and my lads pushed 200% out of themselfs and won d game ....
I read this in someone else's recent post. Pre-match. When playing a team that is below you, tell the team that " you expect to win the match ". When playing a team above you "wish them luck".
At half time if behind,"encourage" and if ahead "don't let performance drop". Do not Say anything else till after the match. After the match do not be too critical after an away defeat [As per SI tips]. Winning 1-0,2-0 say pleased or delighted with win, above 2-0 praise accordng to the choices.
To whoever it was who posted the original of this my thanks and I hope that my memory of it is correct. It is what I am using at the minute. It seems, at worst, better than guessing for yourself, and at best an improvement somewhat.
I am managing Hull City and am having difficulty in getting an assistant manager with high enough attributes in motivating and man management to allow the assistant to do team talks for me.
I'd do that too with one exception. I can never encourage David Albelda for whatever reason. He always becomes angered whenever I encourage him. So I'd leave him out or give him separate team talks during half time.
aside from team talking attributes, you want the ass man to have high potential and ability judging so that they give you the right advice when you offer contracts to players (especially players you've not bothered to scout).
