how to fix it any ideas?
i'm playing in my 2nd season as man utd, and i have lost 9 away games due to the 1 shot 1 goal for the home team.
in all the games the AI goalkeeper gets man of the match (AI super keeper? i hope not)
i've checked when other teams near the top of the league lose a game they get out played or it's a 50-50 match but not me.
i will have 55-65% poss 60-80% pass comp 10-15 shots at goal (on target)
this only happends away from home. at home i've never lost a game in 2 seasons, which is great.
i have bogie teams which i struggle against (watford, sheff utd) which is fine, and makes a great challange and is true to life and keeps you thinking.
now trying to fix it...
one thing i've noticed its normally a wet pitch, so do we need to have a different tactic for wet conditions? if so what do you recommend.
2nd thing is the media. i've never really bothered with media that much but, i'm starting to think it makes a big difference in away games.so any advice on what to say pre match to the media would be great.
cheers pele10

As far as the media goes I usually say they are a team who could cause us problems, whoever we are playing.
That usually motivates two or three players, and for some reason gives their morale a boost.

want to tell me wot tactic ur using, i fail to find or make any away tactic that can consistently give me 10+ shots on goal compared to the oppositon when playing away.
Especially after reaching second half of 2nd season and rank 1 team in england.

if its raining or in wet condition .. dont RWB and play direct football. Try to give some of your midfielders to try long shot as well to take advantage of the wet ball ^^

Just lost to Liverpool in League Cup as Man utd. They had 1 shot on goal, and won 1-0. They had 44% possession and were badly outplayed for 90 minutes, yet David Villa cannot tap in a ball across the line if his life depended on it. Stuff like this is why FM won't be really "realistic" for at least a few more years.

Pele10, you need to analyse the quality of both yours and the opponents shots. Is there a pattern? Are you having too many rediculous speculative efforts? Would you benefit from a slower tempo? Are you always hit on the break?
I see you've put a bit more thought into it than a lot of these threads, so I think it's worth just taking a few more minutes to analyse your games.
I've been thinking of doing this myself and posting up the results. Where shots come from, who takes them etc.
