I have to agree. I consistently have way more shots than my opponenets yet struggle to bag 2 goals at the most. Their shooting percentage and accuracy is amazing and quite maddening actually...

I had the same problem before the 7.0.1 patch. But since its going a lot better, actually winning most away matches with Ajax. Only PSV is a pain in the ass, but they are quality I have to admit that.

Its really a tactics thing. Do you play very attacking? Whats your formation?

I now play a sort of 5-3-2 formation in an anttacking way. 3 DC and a DML and DMR(who go over midfield). The middle DC moves to DMC.
Its perfect for attacking football. Most clubs have 1 or 2 strikers who really are a pain. The extra DC intercepts a lot, also very usefull for man marking.

the score ended Standard 1 - 2 Arsenal

Ok i won the match but how the hell do they score a goal with 0 shots on target, it wasnt an own goal either, i think this 7.0.1 could be bugged

Team score all time in RL without a shot on goal. It can be a cross that goes in. An own goal, a shot goign wide that deflects in etc. SO no its not a bug, people always assume it is when this happens.

One good way would be to watch the match and see how the ball went in the back of the net

They had 44% possession and were badly outplayed for 90 minutes, yet David Villa cannot tap in a ball across the line if his life depended on it. Stuff like this is why FM won't be really "realistic" for at least a few more years.

i agree with you i find it stupid that you have quality players sometimes 1 or 2 or maybe 3 top strikers playin at the same time depending on the formation you playing but then again you cnt score take man utd as an example Rooney and saha it will take them 10-20 shots between them for them to get any bloody goals its a joke and should b sorted out so this game can be a bit more realistic!

As I have said before, this is just an artificial way to keep the scores down, because the engine keeps producing a number of clear cut chances that are way above normal. Its just a workaround from SI until they manage to code something that will feel more realistic. And as I have written before, it is not a tactics problem. When you are having 10 to 20 clear cut chances, then your tactics must be working.

nice one mate, i was away to charlton so i put all my midfielders on through balls often run with ball rarely and long shots often.my defenders on run with ball rarely and through ball often and strikers long shots often run with ball rarely.1-3 win

Wet pitch or not, there is no reason for that. You've dominated the game and created a lot of excellent chances, the game can't ask for any more than that. :thdn:

Honestly, I think most of the complaints in this thread have been the usual tired excuses. As I've pointed out in another thread I have never failed to score when I've had more than 5 shots on target. And I wouldn't even go so far as to say I make quality chances.

A few examples that caught my eye:

Quite a simple one. Hone your tactic to be more patient and create quality chances. Obviously the opposition are hitting you on the break and creating clear-cut attempts, so play a more possession based game and don't rush it.

20 shots? That's profligate. Why are they shooting that much? Seriously, it's actually a bad thing if the team are getting more than 20 shots in a game. By that point you should be 4 or 5 goals in the lead and not have to bomb forward so much. That certainly needs looking into. Those shots must be of very poor quality.

That's a very short memory you've got there. 2005 FA Cup Final? Manchester United were so much better than Arsenal that day and lost. These things happen. 2005 Champions League final? Liverpool only had about 5 good shots on goal in that entire game and one was a missed penalty! I would assume that as you had that much possession and didn't win there's something drastically wrong with your strikers' form and/or your tactical set up.

Then Rooney should have been substituted well before missing his 5th. Seriously, you kept him on? It's clear Rooney can't finish one-on-ones, so why do you keep putting him in that position? That's just logical.

I'm not claiming to have the answers, as I've not won anything on this game either, and I'm frustrated at my lack of chances and my lack of results. But ultimately, if I take a step back it's easy to see that it's my fault and my tactical ineptitude causing the problems. And as they're the same symptoms as everyone else is having, I'm going to go right ahead and say that I'm not the only rubbish manager around.

Plenty of people win on this game, so if the game is that badly flawed then god knows how they're doing it.
