Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Attack or defend?

Do people tend to use ultra attacking or ultra defensive formations? As I read through this forum, it seems like all the main tactics being talked about are ultra attacking, but I'm wary of these as I don't trust my lower league forwards to put the chances away week after week. But then again, my defense isn't good enough even when I play ultra defensive.

Which is best in people's opinions? (I've been using a 4-5-1 variation mostly, but with midfielders mentalities set to attacking)

Inigo i wouldn't suggest playing ultra attacking or ultra defensive as with both i think you will concede lots of goals becuase wioth ultra attcaking you will get caught out on counters etc. but with ultra defensive you are inviting pressure onto your self and the opposition will eventually break you down so in conlusion try and find a good balance inbetween depending on your teams ability compared to the in the league you are in.

hope this helps

i dont ultra attack nor do i ulta defend i play a slightly attacking side, i find defensive tactics to risky and they do say the best form of defense is to attack and i belive that is true, keeping pressure on teams will always prevent them enetering your half and will cause them to make bad decisons as they are rushed into passes, although you have to be very careful when applying this to your tactics as not all squad members are up to chasing balls for the full 90 minutes...
