I will have my first starting 11 members, all great players!
Then i have 6 rotation players who can play in at least 2 positions, and 3-4 backups.
I give my starting lineup 30 games each for the domestic league, and about 10-15 games for cups etc., i give my rotation players 14-16 games domestically and 10-15 games for cups, i give my backups no domestic games but a few cup games which keeps them happy to stay which is fine with me.
The question is, say i've got a 19 year old striker as a rotation player who has excellent potential if he doesnt get games at least once a week does his potential drop? Like wayne rooney or other class players IRL plays every week, does this affect how far he can reach his potentially sure he may eventually end up as starting 11, like 2 of my other players once my original choice is getting older.
Also i have all world class/contitential coaches with 4-5 stars, with top class trainign facilities.
Your players potential will never drop (as far as I know anyway)
However, for a player to reach max potential, you need awesome coaching, regular games, no injuries and a lot of luck.
So, to answer your question, mnot playing your player every game will not lower his potential. However, it will make it make reaching his max potential take longer (if he ever acheives his max)

Thanks mate, much helpful.
At what age can a player extend their potential to i know on the game it says 24 but can it be earlier? I've decided by the age my youngsters are 22-23 if they arent at least 4 star rated i will sell him off.
