I have always sold SWP at the beginning when I've been Chelsea because I have been able to get between £12-15m for him, but I am thinking of starting a new game and try to keep the majority of the squad intact (only getting rid of the real deadwood - Hilario, Ferreira, Pizarro & Shevchenko), so is it worth keeping him?
I will likely play a 4-3-3 with Malouda & Cole my 1st choice wingers and SWP and Kalou as backups, providing I decide to keep hold of him.
Yeah I would like to know from someone who's had him as well. Just going to buy him for my Derby County team for 8M.
But I've had a lot of success with Theo Walcott on the right wing in the past and SWP has stats pretty similar to Walcott, if not better. So I'm sure he'll be good. Get him off the bench after 60-70 mins and with his pace, he should be able to cause panic.
I'm in my second season with Chelsea, and SWP has been a cornerstone of the side. Using the Humdinger formation, he scores an 8 in most matches, and is like a hot knife through butter on the right wing, his final ball has also improved massively using Tugs Training.
He was our player of the year in season one, and whilst his form has dipped slightly in the second, he's still getting top ratings.
His value is quite high now, so I may take the opportunity and try and offload him and bring in a new young star.
Yeah SWP is pretty decent actually first few times i sold him for 14million, but then i kept him and he was surprisingly good... i would also get rid of ballack though, you can get fernandez in for the same price, but less than half his wages
Really like him though, fairly consistent, never gets injured, never gets sent off, quality winger. Lots of pace to fly past everyone, decent with both feet so he can cut inside, not to mention he's better at Long Shots than Finishing on my Wigan game, scores some absolute scorchers.
Highly recommended for any Prem club who are outside the top 8 or so at the start of the game. Only criticism is he's older than you think (26 at start iirc), and he's rubbish at corners.
yea!u shud keep him..he has 20 assist 4 me in d 1st season..buy hard banging goals..anyway..thats wat wingers do..assisting!!e is far more better than the other wingers in my chelsea team..worth 20m in d 2nd season
