Perhaps, but not replying would leave some users with the thought in their head that LLM is 'bad'.
Now that this article is written, there should be no need to ever again respond to this sort of 'criticism'. We can just refer to it, and perhaps even put it in the forum header for people to have an extra understanding of LLM. The "years of this patronizing clap-trap" that LLM members of this board in the past, present, and future have, and will probably have to put up with, will be appreciated by those who read it. This may hopefully reduce the amount of flaming that may, and make for a happier forum.

This whole debate should not have happened in the way it did. The original article was not an invitation to discuss, rather an attack which should not have been published. Those who say that censoring it was not an option are those people that think they are entitled to spout any sh*t wherever they like.
Ian has posted a response which is good but should not have been necessary. It could have been a good debate about the issue of LLM and showing people why we follow the ethics.
Instead it has turned into a row where PM7 has washed his hands of any responsibility - even though he was the one who could have contacted the person who wrote it in an attempt to make a debate more constructive.
In my opinion PM7 is not really interested in the content of the articles published there and likes the power without the responsibility.

Anyone else reminded of Zaq when Ian mentioned that?
A solid reply and one which will correct some fallacies and could even draw in some new LLaMas, if anyone reads the Bootroom. The polls attached to both articles don't have a lot of votes...

Good response guys, hopefully it will silence the doubters and give those people who bad mouth LLM'ers something to think about

Nice job Ian.
I still think we should have surrounded the Bootroom offices with a mob of torch wielding llamas.
Very dissapointing to see the lack of responsibility shown by PM7 and co.
