New Caledonia (as was) used to be a joint condominium between Britain and France till about 20 years ago when they had what passed for a revolution and gained independence as Vanuatu.

And I thought geography was one of your strong points Glyn. Incorrect mate. I've been to both countries, and I am quite sure I was in two different parts of the South Pacific.
