I owe my relative successes to tactics I have devised and use throughout different Divisions, i.e. I use a certain tactic for each Team I play with in the Conference and Division 3, slightly altered for Division 2, and completely different tactics for Division 1 and the Premiership.

Oops sorry about the default formation.

Anyway, there are two league games left and I have a four point lead on Dag and Red ( I surrendered my previous 4 point lead to them, was down two and then built back up to four as their undefeated run since September finally broke). My next match is away to Dag and Red and obviously a result of any kind equals promotion.

I also am facing Dag and Red in the prestigious FA Trophy at Highbury in late May.

Got five players promoted from my youth setup at once. The most interesting one is a keeper who is a keeper (figure it out)

Finally they keep injecting cash (I'm not complaining) and I'm now less than a quarter mil in the red. A result against Dag and Red and I'm definitely in the black when League Football comes around. Will let you know what happens.

My philosophy is a tactic can be "unorthodox" but not "unrealistic." What's the difference. Unorthodox tactics may look odd, but hold to sound tactical theory. Total football is unorthodox, IRL, but it can work with the right players. Unrealistic tactics are tactics that are designed with nothing resembling a real football pitch in mind.

If you make your tactics to beat an algorithm instead of playing solid football, they're unrealistic. Since we're trying to simulate life as RL footy managers, that means, IMHO, unrealistic tactics are a cheat. Thus, no narrow tactics, no 2DC tactics that lack either wingbacks or fullbacks, though 3-5-2 and 5-3-2 variants can look unorthodox and still be realistic. After that, let your conscience be your guide.

Went up 2-0 on Dag and Red before they responded with three unanswered. Snatched the equalizer and held on for a 3-3 draw and the Conference championship.

Beat Dag and Red in front of 11000 in the FA Trophy final to win the Conference double (not exactly the FA Cup but I'll take it).

After the FA Trophy final, we're in the black but not by much and still no transfer funds have been made available. Will have to wait until I get my Div. 3 TV money to actually buy a player.

Wondering what will happen in Div 3.

LFC,

Sorry, I could've sworn I'd seen the generic names before without comment before. I didn't say which ones, nor did I point out anything about them. But I apologize if I've offended.

It was...a moment of weakness...it won't happen. :o
